Amentum Donates $20,000 to Support STEM Programs in Pasco Schools

Pasco School District (PSD) is proud to announce a generous $20,000 donation from Amentum to support science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) programs for the 2025–2026 school year. The gift was presented at a special event on September 2 at the PSD Booth Building.

This contribution will help expand hands-on learning opportunities for Pasco students, preparing them for future careers in high-demand STEM fields. From robotics and engineering to advanced science programs, the investment will provide resources and enrichment experiences that directly benefit students across the district.

“We are so grateful for Amentum’s commitment to Pasco students and families,” said Wendy Lechelt-Polster, PSD Director of STEM Education Instruction & Assessment. “This donation will have a lasting impact, opening doors for students to explore new pathways and inspiring the next generation of innovators.”

Amentum leaders including Kim Jackson, Senior Vice President of Operations, and Jeffrey Peterson, Commissioning Test Manager and STEM advocate, joined PSD staff at the check presentation.

Headquartered in Chantilly, Virginia, Amentum is a global leader in advanced engineering and technology solutions, employing more than 53,000 people across 80 countries. Locally, the company is the parent organization of Washington River Protection Solutions, Central Plateau Cleanup Company, and the Waste Treatment Completion Company at the Hanford site. Amentum also invests in education through initiatives such as the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation, which supports STEM scholars nationwide.

Pasco School District looks forward to putting this generous gift into action as it continues to expand STEM opportunities for students.
